|

Current coordinator Lyn Darmanin with Ella Smith, inaugural
chair of the Shrivings Adult Day Centre.
|
More than 70 people attended a luncheon to celebrate the 15th anniversary
of a day centre for elderly residents at the 351 Barkly Street Brunswick
public housing high-rise.
Among those at the Shrivings Adult Day Centre luncheon was Shrivings
management committees inaugural chair Ella Smith.
Shrivings provides an environment in which the residents and their
friends can enjoy each others company, share meals and take
part in arts and craft, exercise and sporting and social pursuits.
A community garden has been established so residents can grow their
own vegetables and flowersa therapeutic activity that contributes
to their well-being.
