|

Lindsay Clark who will devise and deliver No To Violence
(NTV) seminars.
|
No To Violence (NTV), the Male Family Violence Prevention Association,
has appointed a coordinator to develop and deliver training seminars
across Victoria.
The one-day seminars designed by coordinator Lindsay Clark will
provide preventative responses to men who use violence towards family
members.
They will assist local community representatives and workersincluding
funded agencies and private enterpriseidentify and respond
to family violence.
We know from our data that individuals and organisations
seek advice about working with men who refer to, or demonstrate,
their violent and abusive behaviour, said NTV Manager Danny
Blay.
Yet there has been little support or training for workers
dealing with such men.
The training will also provide a greater understanding of
the behaviour change process and availability of referral options
for men.
Mr Clark will also coordinate two Graduate Certificate in Social
Science (Male Family Violence) courses, in partnership with Swinburne
Universitythe accredited Telephone Counselor and Mens
Behaviour Change Program Facilitator programs.
Mr Clark joined the Mens Referral Service (MRS) as a Telephone
Counsellor in 1993.
He has been the lead trainer for the MRS Telephone Counsellor Training
Program for the past three years and is an experienced Mens
Behaviour Change Group Facilitator.
His appointment as training coordinator has been funded by the
Department of Human Services.
