Secretary hosts Hong Kong group

Department of Human Services Secretary Fran Thorn has hosted a delegation led by Hong Kong Secretary for Food and Health York Chow.

Dr Chow’s group was in Australia to study its health insurance system and pharmaceutical and food regulatory regime.

As well as DHS, Dr Chow visited the Royal Children’s Hospital to collect information conducive to Hong Kong’s preparation for the establishment of a Centre for Excellence in Paediatrics.

Before coming to Melbourne, Dr Chow’s delegation visited Canberra, where he met senior officials of the Therapeutic Goods Administration, Food Standards Australia New Zealand and the Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing.
