Radio you can read
A new mobile phone short message service (SMS) can broadcast
information to people who are deaf or hard of hearing.
TXT RadioRadio you can read is a prepaid service covering
topics such as deaf community information, news flashes and weather
alerts.
It was developed by Melbourne company T-Rex Group in conjunction
with the Victorian Council of the Deaf (VCOD).
People who are deaf and hard of hearing are significant SMS usersTXT
messaging is an affordable and convenient way for those who cannot
hear to communicate with each other and the community.
The prepaid service costs $2 per week.
Profits will help fund VCOD.
