Conference to focus on harm reduction
Practice, politics and policy are the themes of the Anex Harm Reduction
Conference to be held at The Malthouse Theatre complex in Melbourne
on June 18 and 19.
The conference brings together needle and syringe program (NSP)
workers, other service providers including local and State government,
injecting drug users and key stakeholders to improve strategies
and outcomes in reducing drug-related harm to the whole community.
It will examine, debate and discuss issues relating to the field
of harm reduction including the NSP and health services for people
who inject.
It will also address demand and supply reduction issues.
Researchers, practitioners and advocates working towards the reduction
of drug-related harm from local, national and international perspectives
will provide a diversity of presentations and workshops.
Anex is an incorporated association of needle and syringe programs
dedicated to the enhancement of the NSP sector and the reduction
of drug related-harm to the whole community.
Anex also provides evidence-based education and training on drug
harm reduction.
