Haemophilia conference
A program of activities for youth delegates will be a feature of
the 13th National Haemophilia Conference to be held in Melbourne.
The Haemophilia Foundation Australia conference will be held at
Rydges between Friday, September 30 and Sunday, October 2.
The Concurrent Youth Stream sessionsorganised by the HFA
Youth Committeewill target delegates aged under 14, if there
are sufficient registrations, and 14 to 25.
The conference will also include a mens breakfast, workshops
for families and presentations by Australian, New Zealand and overseas
experts on current and future issues affecting the bleeding disorders
community.
Topics will include ethics, genetic testing, safety and supply
of treatment products, management and care of haemophiliacs, inhibitor
treatment and care, diagnosis and treatment of von Willebrand disorder,
ageing, muscoskeletal issues, exercise and sport, emergency treatment,
hepatitis C and HIV treatment, pain management, transition to adulthood
and family issues.
