Book discusses drug policy

City of Port Phillip Mayor Dick Gross will launch a new textbook aimed at helping students consider alternative perspectives on Australian drug policies.

Harm Minimisation, Zero Tolerance and Beyond analyses and explains contemporary Australian illicit drugs policies and outcomes, while focusing on the political factors and forces that determine these policies.

The book was written by Senior Lecturer in Social Policy and Community Development in Monash University Faculty of Medicine’s Department of Social Work Philip Mendes and Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Centre for Applied Social Research at RMIT University James Rowe.

Harm Minimisation, Zero Tolerance and Beyond will be launched at Cosmos Bookshop, 112 Acland Street, St Kilda, at 6 p.m. on July 28.
