Research award for doctor

Dr Alex Chamberlain, who won an award for research in the
area of dermatology.

Alfred Hospital Dermatology Registrar Dr Alex Chamberlain has received
the Schering-Plough Award for clinical research at the Australasian
College of Dermatologists 37th annual scientific meeting in Sydney.
This is the second time he has received this award for Australian
dermatology trainees, having also been successful in 2002 for melanoma
research under Alfred Associate Professor John Kelly.
The awards were established to recognise clinicians advancing research
in the area of dermatology.
Dr Chamberlain carried out his award-winning research between 2001
and 2002, while working as a Clinical Research Fellow in the Department
of Dermatology in Oxford, England.
His work over this time has led to the publication of 12 papers
and primarily involved immunobullous disease and hair and nail disorders.
