New CEO for Southern Health

Southern Health has appointed Linda Sorrell as its new Chief Executive.

Southern Health Chair Peter Maloney said Ms Sorrell has held senior management positions in the public health sector for a number of years.

She is currently acting CEO for the Southern Area Health Service in NSW.

‘Ms Sorrell has gained experience working inside the NSW Department of Health where her focus has been on monitoring the performance of all the area health services,’ Mr Maloney said.

Ms Sorrell was deputy CEO of the Illawarra Area Health Service and earlier Director of Clinical Services for Corrections Health Service.

She held a number of senior management positions at the Prince Henry and Prince of Wales Hospitals.

Ms Sorrell will take up her appointment in early May.
