Since the Ministerial Advisory Committee on Child and Family Support
first met in July last year, it has advised Minister for Community
Services Sherryl Garbutt on a range of issues.
The committee was formed to strengthen links between government
and the community sectorsending a clear message that sector
views and expertise were respected and essential to ensure Department
of Human Services policies and programs reflected the needs
of vulnerable children, young people and their families.
The Ministerial Advisory Committee on Child and Family Support
is chaired by Victorian Aboriginal Child Care Agency (VACCA) Chief
Executive Officer Muriel Cadd.
Its members have the necessary, diverse skills and experience to
give expert advice on significant reforms to the sector now under
way.
