The Foothold on Safety campaign poster to be distributed through the eastern suburbs.

People 65 and over in Melbourne’s east are the focus a Falls Don’t Just Happen poster urging older Victorians to actively seek advice on reducing their risks of falls-related death, serious injury, loss of confidence and mobility.

The innovative Foothold on Safety campaign was launched at Box Hill Community Arts Centre by Aged Care Minister Gavin Jennings.

The poster will be distributed widely among GPs, local councils, community health services, Neighbourhood Houses, pharmacies, community and welfare groups and senior citizens clubs.

The campaign is a joint initiative of the Outer East, Central East and Boroondara Primary Care Partnerships Foothold on Safety Projects, part of a statewide Human Services Department initiative.

This is the first time the three have pooled their resources for a collaborative initiative.
