WA hospital chief joins Peter Mac

Former Chief Executive of the Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and Area Chief Executive of the Northern Metropolitan Health Service in Perth Craig Bennett has been appointed CEO of the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre (Peter Mac).

Chair of the Board of Directors at Peter Mac Dr Heather Wellington said Mr Bennett was a health economist by training and had held senior management positions in both the private and public health care sectors in Australia and overseas.

‘Mr Bennett’s particular interests include understanding the links between teaching, research and patient care,’ said Dr Wellington.

Mr Bennett said he was aware of the special role Peter Mac played in cancer treatment and research.

‘I look forward to working closely with all staff to deliver to patients the very best cancer treatment and care.’

Mr Bennett will take up his appointment in late May.
